"What's a fanlisting?!", you say? Well, go here for details about that. But basically it's just a place where all fans for something (anything at all) can all be listed in one place. And this fanlisting is for all fans of the tv series Doctor Who! Originally created and run by Bob the Jeep, it is now run by me, Noelle, as of January 2003.
"What's Doctor Who?!", you ask? Well, it's a tv series made in England that was very long running -- 1963 through 1989, to be exact. It was cancelled for a while, and then it came back! It began a new series in 2005, and is still on the air. It's a science fiction series chronicling the adventures of a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey as he travels the galaxies having adventures and fighting evil villains in his "space ship" (sortof), the TARDIS (meaning Time and Relative Dimensions in Space). The TARDIS is shaped like a police call box on the outside, but on the inside, due to the warping of time and space, is huge.
Time Lords have 13 lives, and every time a life expires, they morph into their new body -- and personality! Over the years the Doctor has been played by many different actors, who have all put their own spin on the Doctor. The tv series is comprised of Doctors One through Seven, skipping Eight (who only appeared in a tv movie and not the series), starting again with Nine onwards. Also throughout the series, the Doctor is accompanied by dozens of different companions who assist him on his travels through the univserse.
And what use would the forces of good in the form of the Doctor and his companions be without forces of evil to fight? There are many different monsters the Doctor must fight, some of the most notable recurrent evil guys being the Daleks, the Cybermen, and the Doctor's arch-nemesis, the Master, a renegade (and evil) Time Lord.
All this adds up to a sci-fi show with great storylines and lots of humor. Sounds like a fun show, doesn't it? Well it is! You should check it out, then come join the fanlisting!
